Bright Ideas in the Pipeline Could Cut Costs for Industries Worldwide

An ingenious in-pipeline manufacturing system developed in the North East is now being marketed to pharmaceutical, food, cosmetic, paints and plastics manufacturers across Europe and the USA.

Wilton-based Eurofarpoint received a £60,000 investment from the Proof of Concept Fund to help prove the commercial worth of EMINT – a device that makes emulsion production more efficient.

EMINT gives a manufacturing footprint that is 200 times smaller than traditional large tanks, creating flexible solutions for batch or continuous manufacturing.

The company is now poised to broker technology transfer deals across a broad spectrum of industries, as well as engaging in a new in-house research programme.

Eurofarpoint Managing Director Dr Mike Anderson said: “We now recruiting two new employees to help us add valuable intellectual property to the existing patent portfolio of the company.

“We have just completed our first two years of trading, and have launched our own skincare range – Tamanu Care – using a natural product that originates from Polynesia. These products help reduce scars, stretch marks and wrinkles, are shaping up to be a huge success.

“POC funding helped us prove the concept of EMINT, and we’re now in a position to bring the benefits of this system to manufacturers around the world.”
