The £23m North East Co-Investment Fund provided financial backing to local innovative enterprises, syndicating its deals with the private sector. The capital was provided by the European Regional Development Fund.
As a testament to the Fund’s success, an extra £7m was made available for 2009, resulting in a total Fund of £30 which was fully invested in 2009.
