Guide to Applicants

The fund investment managers are looking for three critical elements in each potential investment: the novelty of the idea, the market potential and the enthusiasm of the team. Ideal candidates are market-driven companies with an ability to expand rapidly.

Concepts should be innovative, with scope to secure intellectual property rights. The investment can be used to test an idea, protect intellectual property or research market demand.

Technology Development

Does the idea need basic proof in terms of feasibility studies, prototyping or patent exemplification? What are the potential development costs in converting the idea into a product?

Research Market Demand

Is the idea market-driven? Does the idea address a real, perceived, future or developing market need? What is the size of that market and how should any business be shaped to maximise demand? What are the competing technologies and companies?

Business Development and Exit Route

What is required to become an investment-ready proposition, one capable of attracting follow-on funds? What are the necessary steps towards realising commercial potential?
